a year of songs: number 42
- Thursday, October 8th: Our favorite tree came down this
week. It was a beauty, a red oak with an amazing canopy. Jonathan was an
infant when we moved into our house and that tree became 'his' as he grew.
When he went away to college the tree didn't awake the following spring.
A song is the least I can do for this old friend. Here's Number 42, "Old
Tree".

the 52 song project
'Relationship Coffee' is a new term to hit the coffee realm. It speaks on the importance of the relationship between all of the businesses involved in the steps of getting the coffee bean from the plant to your cup.
I'm seeing '52 Songs' as "Relationship Songs", with a devotion to bringing music from the creative seed to your ear. But the decision has been made to farm the seed in my own way.
When I've been a songwriter in Nashviile or the West Coast, we wrote songs
to fit the formula. Some talented songwriters
can bring their heart into a strict formula, but I found out I couldn't, or
maybe wouldn't.
