a year of songs: number 39
- Thursday, September 24th: I keep scraps of paper with words
I wrote for decades. I've lost more than my share in my travels. The words
rarely turn into songs, but I can remember exactly where I was and how I
felt when I wrote them. Sometimes I call it poetry and toss it into the box.
I wrote a poem for Candy while singing in Alaska in 1984, and I remember
thinking it was pretty good - then I lost it. Here's Number 39, "Ketchikan,
Alaska"

the 52 song project
Thirty-nine songs into this journey and I'm still
kind of hoping for something to come to me about every Tuesday. I was looking
through boxes and found old poetry I wrote from younger years, and that's what
came to me this Tuesday.
